Farewell Miss Scrutton

Miss Scrutton retired after 27 years of extraordinary service to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, 20 of those years being our Head Teacher.
It’s hard to put into words just how much Miss Scrutton has meant to this school, to the children, to the staff, to the parents, and to our wider community. For two decades, she has been the steady, unwavering heart of this school — a constant rock in an ever-changing world. In times of triumph, and in moments of challenge, her calm leadership and wise counsel have guided us all with grace, strength, and faith.
Miss Scrutton has not just been a leader, she has been a role model, she has led by example — with dignity, with patience, and always with integrity. Her wisdom is the kind that only comes from years of experience, deep empathy, and a true understanding of what it means to nurture both hearts and minds.
At the end of the summer term, we held Mass in celebration of her many years of leadership, faith, and commitment to St Joseph's.
May God bless Miss Scrutton in this new chapter of her life, as richly as you have blessed all of ours.
