Eco Leads

Our Eco Leads are a team of passionate pupils who help our school care for the environment and encourage others to make sustainable choices. Their work is closely linked to the Catholic Social Teaching principle of Stewardship, which reminds us that we are called to care for God's creation and use the Earth's resources responsibly.

The Eco Leads meet regularly to discuss environmental issues within the school and identify ways we can reduce waste and live more sustainably. They play an important role in raising awareness among their peers and helping everyone to understand how small actions can make a big difference.

Over the years, the Eco Leads have led a number of successful initiatives. They have introduced a scheme to recycle used whiteboard pens, helping to reduce unnecessary waste. Working alongside the Friends of St Joseph's (FOSJ), they also helped secure a clothes recycling bank, providing our school community with an easy way to recycle unwanted clothing while supporting charitable causes. In addition, Eco Leads regularly share important messages in assemblies, reminding pupils about the correct use of classroom recycling bins and encouraging everyone to reduce, reuse and recycle wherever possible.

Through their leadership, the Eco Leads help our school community to put faith into action, showing care and respect for God's world both now and for future generations.
