On-line Safety

As in other aspects of life, children and young people need to learn how to use technology safely and responsibly.  On-line safety is built into our computing curriculum and also covered in EPR sessions so that children know how to keep themselves safe on-line.

Many children use the internet at home, both for learning and leisure, and it is vital that parents also know how to keep their children safe on-line and are vigilant in monitoring the content children access and put in place rules and controls to keep children safe.  Each Wednesday, we e-mail all parents a copy of the latest guide from the National On-line Safety  # Wake Up Wednesdays initiative.  Copies of recent issues can also be found in the #Wake up Wednesday folder.    There is also a wealth of information to support parents via the following organisations:

The NSPCC website contains lots of useful information for parents regarding on-line safety including setting up parental controls and monitoring your child’s internet use which can be accessed at the following link NSPCC Keeping Children Safe On-line
